Today’s Scripture:     Mark 9: 23-24

“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’  Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’

Read Mark Chapter 9

I Believe!

I believe in God, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit; the Word of God, the miracles and the offer of eternal life.  I know forgiveness, grace, and mercy because I believe.  I’m sure all things are possible to him who believes.

And yet I pray, like the father of the child, for Jesus to answer my prayer for more faith – to help my unbelief!  It’s a very human prayer, and I’m relieved to know that God understands, and, in His Word, offers a model of how to pray for help with our unbelief.  It’s a pretty simple prayer for a pretty wonderful thing.

Prayer Starter

Start with the Lord’s prayer today.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen
