A New Start

Butterfly emergesThis means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!  And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him.   – 2 Cor. 5:17-18

Starting a new school year is an opportunity to start over.  So much can change in three months over summer vacation!  With new classmates, new teachers, perhaps a new school, kids can reinvent themselves – a different look, a higher class status, a fresh attitude –  and begin with a clean slate.

In the adult world, we often feel that we don’t have the chance to start over; we’re stuck in the rut our choices have dug.  But life in Christ is new every day.  We are not tied to our mistakes of the past, but freed to become the person God wants us to grow up to be.
