Stress is a part of being alive and has been from the beginning. Whether it was the constant struggle for physical survival, social acceptance, or emotional stability, every being in each generation has and will continue to experience it. It is excessive stress that puts a harmful strain on all aspects of our health. While we cant always change our circumstances or stressors, we can control our reaction to them where we find the key to managing the pressures of life.
Jesus knew the daily strain of responsibility, poverty, anxiety and rejection, but He also knew how to leave these burdens in His Fathers hands so that He could sleep well, laugh often, live in peace and respond with love in a stressful world. If youre weary of carrying all the dis-stress then its time to de-stress with the Master of real rest. We can’t escape, we won’t endure, but we can elevate it to the one that can erase its harmful effects.
