Children Will Listen

The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them. -Proverbs 20:7

A Broadway musical called Into the Woods, has an insightful finale song that says:  “Careful the things you say, children will listen. Careful the things you do, children will see. And learn. Children may not obey, but children will listen. Children will look to you for which way to turn, to learn what to be. Careful before you say, ‘Listen to me.’ Children will listen.”

Our children are a product of us, the adults that surround them every day, even when we think they are not looking or listening.  It is our responsibility to live godly lives, setting examples of Christian behavior, always aware of the things we say and do, so that the young people we encounter leave with the excitement of who they can be in God’s Kingdom.

Never forget – children are listening.  Children – listen with your hearts starting today.
