Start With Peace

The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful. – Colossians 3:15

After the holiday season, the hustle and bustle, the stress and speed to the close of the year, we so often rush right into the new year like an unending treadmill. Resolutions are made, goals set and we’re back on the tracks again, going to the same places we’ve been before, slowing down only for disappointment along the way.  What if we tried a new strategy?

Instead of charging forward, what if we stopped – for just a while – and made space in our lives to tap into the peace of God. A peace we need to help us make better plans, to guide us to greater goals and provide us with the power to succeed.  Peace is a force that surrounds us, flows through us and binds us together with others who are also still enough to touch, not like protons and neutrons vibrating wildly around a nucleus trying not to crash.

So be at peace with others and with yourself.  It is in the stillness that gratitude will wash over us – a peaceful place indeed.
