Trusting in Extreme Love

In ancient times, the “gods” were believed to regularly inflict mischief and misery on mankind. Greek and Roman deities were thought to slip in and out of human form to suit their whims and serve their selfish ends. A God of love, One that would take on human existence from its vulnerable beginning through a sacrificial end was really beyond comprehension or reasoning. But that was the new paradigm, in Jesus Christ, that would change the world.

Even today, God is blamed for every ill wind that blows, but is not acknowledged for His every day protection, blessings and care. We can trust our God to be motivated only by love which brings confident hope in the best possible future for His children.  The love He has demonstrated through the ages is not just warm, but extravagant – so excessive that we just cannot keep it to ourselves.

Dear loving Father, help us to see you in both the ups and downs of our lives so that we may praise you more! Amen
