An Invitation to Rest

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. -Matthew 11:28

These words were not meant for those who were on “Easy Street,” but for those who were walking a hard road. Jesus was not extending an invitation to a party or a carefree life.  He didn’t offer an end to the challenges that weigh us down, just a place to rest while He carries the load with us. The burdens don’t disappear, but they do dissipate. Rather than a block of ice, we can manage the same mass as a mist.

Accept His invitation to come and experience rest for the soul, peace of mind and strength of heart that we can only know in Him.
