Memorial Day

There, where God had spoken to him, Jacob set up a memorial stone and consecrated it…  -Genesis 35:14

It is good to remember – whether with joyful celebration or solemn acknowledgement.  Marking important events or memorializing the totality of a life well lived and sacrifices made are a time honored tradition.

As the Church, we remember the mighty acts of God every day, and then celebrate together every year. Whether in small ways or large, it is only important that we do take time to remember and give thanks.  While there are some things, some people, that can never be forgotten, a national day of remembrance gives us the opportunity to join together, in corporate gratitude, to pay our respect for those who paid the ultimate price for the priceless gifts of freedom.
