Is the Bible Reliable?

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. -2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)

The Bible, the Christian text and sacred scripture, is the best-selling book in history. Written over a period of 1500 years with over 40 different contributors from all walks of life: shepherds, farmers, tent-makers, physicians, fishermen, priests, philosophers and kings, and yet remarkably cohesive.  A collection of history, prophecy, poetry, biography, allegory, song, law and letters providing genealogy, instruction, motivation, comfort, promise, and praise.  Created in three languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek), it now exists in more than 450. Few books of its age, based on eye-witness and first-hand accounts, has stood as much scrutiny or continuous study. If the Bible is not reliable, what book is?
