Sense The Season of Hope

Hope May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. -Romans 15:13

Hope. We use the word often and in many different contexts. The hope we find in the Christmas story does not direct us to a ‘why’ ‘where’ or ‘when;’ our hope directs us to a ‘Whom.’ When Jesus Christ is the ultimate object of our hope, our hope becomes more than a wispy aspiration, a chance prospect, or an optimism that is not based on a certainty. This year, as we embrace hope, let us experience it through our five senses of sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing. Our hope is in Jesus, the Light we see. Our hope is in Jesus, the Bread we taste symbolically. Our hope is in Jesus, the Word we hear.  Our hope is in Jesus, the fragrant offering for our sin. Our hope is in Jesus, the Touch on our soul. Let us set our eyes upon the One, in whom our hope is anchored.    – Rev. Judy Weeks
