New Year Promise

For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations. – Isaiah 61:11

To a farmer, there is nothing quite as beautiful as the first sprout of Spring, breaking through the cold, hard, barren field.  It is the reward of last year’s plowing, planting, water and prayer.  So much preparation put into a tiny seed. It is the promise of the harvest to come, more work to be done, more love, more prayer, before the tiny sprout completes its journey to maturity.

Every day we have the opportunity to see the beauty and excitement of new life. With each morning comes the benefit of all the days before – the joy, the pain, mistakes made and lessons learned – and all the promise born of hope and faith. It is a new beginning, for better or worse, the unknown and unexpected rushing in.  Meet it with all the courage and conviction of your heart which has been planted in you by the Master of Days and who is preparing you for eternity.
