GPS (God’s Positioning System)

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best… -Philippians 1:9-10a

Global Positioning Systems, or GPS, changed the way we reach our destinations. Voice control talks us through turn-by-turn directions from here to there and anywhere we please. We Map Quest the address and then follow the electronic line chosen for us. All is well until we impulsively decide to go off-road, take a different route, or make a pit-stop. With every unmapped turn we hear “re-routing” as the GPS generates a new path to get us back on track and headed toward the selected location.

God’s Positioning System works in much the same way. A final destination is mapped out for us, but our free will so often takes us off course. Even so, God will re-route us from wherever we find ourselves and direct us back on the road to the perfect journey’s end. We need only plug our lives into our Faith Quest and let the Holy Spirit lead us home.
