Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.’” -Exodus 8:1
Seven times in the book of Exodus we see Moses tell Pharaoh to let God’s people go – that they can worship God. Not just to be released from slavery, poverty and oppression, but for the express purpose of being free to worship Him. We were made to worship, to honor, revere and adore our Creator, but it seems like so much still gets in our way. We in America are truly free to worship our God. So why don’t we? Are we slaves to the demands of work? Are we poverty stricken in the soul? Are we oppressed by our own expectations and worries? We are free to choose to fill our days with worship, adoration and gratitude – let’s do!
