Women of Courage

Wake up, wake up, Deborah! Wake up, wake up, break out in song!
Arise, Barak! Take captive your captives, son of Abinoam. – Judges 5:12 (NIV)

Courage, kindness, having faith, or taking action are all characteristics that do not require any special physical strength or mortal power. God uses people of every age, ability and gender to work His will. There are many women, for example, who were God’s heroines, facing down armies and enemies of Jehovah through the power of His might and the courage of her heart. All throughout history, women have shown remarkable strength of character and bravery of spirit to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord.

These stories encourage us to be heroes in our own lives today, whatever our size, shape, or condition. Who we are is never as important as “whose” we are. Take courage – our God is with us and the battle is won!
