Bearing the Marks

John 8:31 (NLT)
Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, “You are truly My disciples if you remain faithful to My teachings.

Throughout the centuries, teachers have come and gone. Many have had disciples that subscribe to their theories and philosophies. Few have survived the tests of time, some in little more than bits and pieces, phrases or proverbs. Jesus knew that His time to teach would be short and that His disciples would be responsible for ensuring His teachings would live on from generation to generation. Being faithful to His Word and way would take extraordinary commitment and continual practice. Their actions would be the marks of His disciples, not just tattoos or scars, but being a daily living sacrifice for Him.
