What the Bible Says About Discipleship

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” –Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

If you knew you were leaving – never to have the opportunity to meet face to face again – what would you say? What would be the last words you would speak to your friends and family? Wouldn’t it be the most important instructions, the deepest desires for your loved ones, the words that you would most want to be remembered after you were gone? Yes, if we only had that opportunity. Jesus knew this time had come and took full advantage of His last moments in a physical world; the last chance to speak to ears that could hear, if only they would. This was His message of discipleship, love and hope.
