The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus. – Acts 4:13
This is where the Christian Church began – a few ordinary men and women who stood out from the crowd. They had no special education or social status, just a small group that surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ and a mission of sacrifice and service in His name.
Their message of love and joy, born from a personal relationship with God, spread by the power of His Spirit. Scared, flawed, anonymous people became bold, unfettered, infamous proclaimers of the Word that would save the world. They claimed victory in the face of insurmountable odds and we are the beneficiaries of their faith.
