When Jesus saw her weeping [Mary], and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him [Lazarus]?” He asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept. – John 11:33-35
Although Jesus knew He would raise His friend Lazarus from the grave, He still deeply felt the sorrow of Mary and Martha. Jesus didn’t tell them not to grieve, but rather – wept with them.
As we remember many loved ones who have gone ahead of us, and even knowing that we will have a glorious reunion some day, Jesus still weeps with us – feeling our pain and comforting us in His arms.
