…what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God? – Micah 6:8 (NIV)
The greatest commandments – to love God and love our neighbor as we love ourselves – are broad and have clearly been open to varying interpretations through the ages. In the book of Micah, however, we are given a specific definition of how to live out God’s expectation of us: stand up for justice, exercise the courage to be kind with the strength to care, and reject the hubris of power that invades us and every facet of our world.
To be Christian is not a noun, but rather a verb, acting out the uncommon, unconditional, uncompromising love of God.
As you pray today, mediate on the strength that we gain as we grow our faith
