Fear Not

Fear not, I am with thee

Written by: Rev. Barry McFarlane

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”  Isaiah 41:10

Fear is an unpleasant emotion that someone or something is dangerous or harmful. Isaiah speaking to the children of Israel is admonishing them to not be afraid because God is with them.

Like Israel, we are fearful at this time as we face the uncertainties of the pandemic. We are fearful of going out in public or meeting with strangers fearing that we could be infected or infect others. God is still saying to us today, ‘Fear not, I am with you.’

Prayer; Dear Lord, help us always to be dependent on thee keeping us from harm and danger. May we feel your presence with us as we go about our daily lives; we ask your blessings on us in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
