Then I will praise God’s name with singing, and I will honor Him with thanksgiving. – Psalm 69:30
Formula One (F1) race cars are high performance machines. Designated F1 by its engineering and rules of the race, these cars move up to 220 miles an hour and must complete the course using only one tank of gas. They are made for speed and designed to keep them from literally taking flight. As they run the course, they have coaches and pit crews in constant contact helping them achieve maximum fuel efficiency while negotiating the curves and challenges of each turn and straight-away.
No less thrilling, we are designed to run a life so full that our spirit wants to take flight. Gratitude is the engine of joy and knowing that we have but one life to live, we must make the most of the fuel we have been supplied – super-charging it with praise and minimizing the resistance of resentment, unforgiveness, and ungratefulness. We have help all along the way in preachers, teachers, and the Holy Spirit, to keep us on the course and winning our race. We are high praise creations and giving thanks to God – singing, shouting, celebrating His grace – makes every race day a day of gratitude!
