Courage In the Moment

…Ahaziah’s sister Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram, took Ahaziah’s infant son, Joash, and stole him away from among the rest of the king’s children, who were about to be killed. – 2 Kings 11:2 (NLT)

Courage is not the absence of fear, nor the opposite of cowardice. It is a decision to take positive action regardless of the negative consequences that could follow. In a split second, Courage forgets the odds and stops calculating the risk, and regards someone or some thing more important, more valuable than itself. Courage is not confined to soldiers or law enforcement, but just every day people who do the right thing when the deciding moment presents itself. When God controls our moments, in that decisive instant, we are never alone.
