How’s Your Temple?
May 9, 2011 by Worship Director.
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? - 1 Corinthians 6:19
God created man and woman in His own image and pronounced it “very good.” We are no accident, our bodies – how they work and reproduce – are really still a mystery to our human understanding. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. (Psalm 139:13-14) And like all of His creations, we are caretakers of this body, a temple built for His use and His resting.
Are we keeping up the maintenance? Are we making “home improvements” on His investment property? Are we treating ourselves as holy ground, in which He can live and move and breathe? Maybe it’s time to restore our health (physical and spiritual) to God’s factory settings. It’s never too late to start a renovation.
