It is good to see, with our own eyes, the results of our obedience. Sometimes we do – in a friend’s face, a physical healing, a bump in our financial statement. Most times, the result is there, but we just don’t see it because we’re not looking.
Jesus was sure that His obedience to His Father’s will would be acknowledged – He looked to the heavens and His confirmation came. It could have just gone down in history as a pesky bird drawn to the water by the movement of the breaking light on its surface but it was not so in His eyes.
Looking is the first step to seeing, and in seeing, we begin to recognize every day as a walk in a shower of blessings.
