Hands that PrayCome to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28

“Stress” is a part of being alive and has been from the beginning. Whether it was the constant struggle for physical survival, social acceptance, or emotional stability, every being in each generation has and will continue to experience it. It is excessive stress that puts a harmful strain on all aspects of our health.  While we can’t always change our circumstances or stressors, we can control our reaction to them – where we find the key to managing the pressures of life.

Jesus knew the daily strain of responsibility, poverty, anxiety and rejection, but He also knew how to leave these burdens in His Father’s hands so that He could sleep well, laugh often, live in peace and respond with love in a stressful world. If you’re weary of carrying all the dis-stress then it’s time to de-stress with the Master of real rest.  We can’t escape, we won’t endure, but we can elevate it to the one that can erase its harmful effects.
