A Lesson from Veterans

Tell them to be ready for tomorrow, because I, the Lord God of Israel, have this to say: “you have in your possession some things that I ordered you to destroy! You cannot stand against your enemies until you get rid of these things!” – Joshua 7:13

We procrastinate because something stands in our way of doing what must be done – a thing, a person or desire that keeps us separated from God’s will. Perhaps we should take a lesson from our veterans.  When the commander says move, the soldier moves.  When the time is just right, the forces charge.  A moment missed could lead to disaster.  The soldier trusts the commander, their training, and the cause and nothing stands between them and their mission.

May we put our mission first, above anything that would stand in God’s way with us.
