Size and Value

Hope …they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures… -Matthew 2:11 (NIV)

Whenever we give, we should first bow down to the Christ Child and remember how much we have received. Giving should always be an act of gratitude not obligation, an element of worship not a compensatory transaction.  The modest beginnings of God’s only Son reminds us that is it not the size of the gift, but the sacrifice it represents, which makes it valuable.
