For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. -2 Corinthians 5:1 (NIV)

In the legend of King Arthur, the mythology says that Merlin turn the boy king into a hawk so that as he flew high in the air looking over the vast land below, he saw no borders between territories, states or countries. An important lesson for us all to consider.  These are man-made boundaries. Though treated as hard barriers to keep us, our possessions and our rights neatly within and all the others out, they are just a temporary agreement of governments to honor the lines of separation.

Only God is eternal, His kingdom unmovable, and unchanging. The only investment that will last, to be waiting for us at the end of our time on this plain, is that which is built by His hands – beyond our sight, but not surpassing our reach.
