And He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ. – Ephesians 4:11-12 (KJV)

The analogy of the Church as the “Body of Christ” is the perfect illustration to teach us how each limb and organ, like every one, is uniquely gifted and necessary to accomplishing His purpose in us and in the world. A healthy body requires that every part is in top condition and works together as it was designed. Pain in any area, hurts the whole body; any member that is not using the gifts or talents that God provided to them, leaves a hole, a void, a less than fully functioning Church.

Each of us, and the giftedness we embody, are valuable to God, to one another, and to the Church. Discover your gifts and use them for the ministry God has designed just for you!
