The Language of Love

As a result of this, many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go?” – John 6:68-69

Jesus told His followers that He was soon to be a sacrifice, that His body and His blood would be the only path to eternal life. For many that did not understand His full meaning, it was too unfathomable to comprehend and they walked away.

Today, many turn away because of our “church speak” – words and images that are well known to those raised in a church fellowship – frightening and confusing to the uninitiated. We cannot reach others for Christ until we start using the common language of love – speak it wherever you go, for there is no one else who can help us through this world and into the next.
