Don’t Be on the Outside Looking In

Did God’s people [the Jews] stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! They were disobedient, so God made salvation available to the Gentiles… Now if the Gentiles were enriched because the people of Israel turned down God’s offer of salvation, think how much greater a blessing the world will share when they finally accept it. – Romans 11:11-18

We’ve all been disobedient in some way, from time to time, and there’s always a consequence.  Our loss may be someone else’s gain.  Regardless of our actions, God’s purposes will be fulfilled, but it’s sad when we realize that we have been left on the outside.  It’s never too late, however, to begin to obey, especially around those small closets and cupboards in our lives that we keep hidden perhaps even from ourselves.

Our Father is never angry forever, and forgiveness is His specialty.  Through Christ we can all be “insiders” again and will celebrate together when everyone is living the blessings of obedience.
