For no prophetic message ever came just from the human will, but people were under the control of the Holy Spirit as they spoke the message that came from God. – 2 Peter 1:21
We know God, the Father, as an omnipotent, creator and Supreme Being of the universe – in some ways, too large for our small minds and limited measure of understanding to comprehend. To connect, God appeared in the being of Jesus, a human like us who could converse directly with us, and show us how to live a finite life on the way to eternity. It is the Holy Spirit, however, that has a more elusive identity; coexisting within us – guiding us, but not compelling us, speaking through us, not for us.
It is this Spirit that is the direct line to God here and now. Not far away, not long ago, but present every moment of every day. We can unmistakably feel its comfort, intercession, counseling and instruction. By this we know what we know and can testify that what we believe is true. It is hard to explain, easy to experience, and impossible to deny!
